Under the rapid transformation of our society, local crafts and craftsmen gradually vanished from our sight. Ordinary crafts become extraordinary.
Students of the Hong Kong Art School’s Higher Diploma in Applied and Media Arts programme and students of the Lingnan University’s Department of Cultural Studies have learned the techniques and steps of crafts making from local craftsmen. They would like to represent the value, the meaning and possibilities of local crafts through their artworks in the upcoming exhibition.
工藝本是尋常事，只是在時代的巨輪下，工藝和工匠似乎從我們的視線中消失。當「尋常」變得不尋常，我們就只得尋它。我們尋見工藝，嚐它，也嘗它，希望它常在。
香港藝術學院應用及媒體藝術高級文憑的同學及嶺南大學文化研究系同學從工匠身上認識了工藝的基本技巧和工序。他們希望透過自己的作品，於展覽再現工藝的價值、意義和可能性，作為對工藝的回應。
