"It is bitter when I look at my mother, as a woman, as a mother of two, as a wife. She was once so young, so beautiful, with her eyes filled with love and hope. Unlike my mother who has taken a lot of photos in her youth, I have almost nothing. Seeing her look at the old photos and reminisce the good old times, I just feel sad.
She may not have a remarkable life, but with all the sorrows and pains, it is heavy enough for one to put them on her shoulders. Grew up in the post war era in Hong Kong, she took her steps walking into the unknown future. Because of her disastrous marriage, she could not spend her remaining years in comfort. The best of her time fades with the old photos and her fragile memories, until one day when all are gone forever."
